The Subject and Message Template fields in the Setup tab of Alerts support tags as a placeholder for data automatically entered by the system. The system replaces each tag with unit-specific data when sending an alert notification to a contact. This feature reduces the amount of data entry when setting up an alert. It also allows you to use an alert with more than one unit when settings are saved as a unit settings template.
Information in the following table identifies which tags you can use when setting up a Data, Activity, Status, and Packet alert (Units > Unit Admin > Alerts > Setup). Enter each tag inside brackets when setting up an alert. For example, when an alert is setup with the tags [NAME] and [ID], these tags are replaced with the unit name and unit ID in the alert notification sent to the contact.
