Use the procedures below to set up analog, digital, active digital, interrupter, Firmware Version, and accumulator data points in the Data Point and Settings tabs of Unit Admin. For related information, see the links in Related Topics.
Data Point Tab
To display the Data Point tab:
- Click Units > Unit Admin.
- Select a unit and then a data point in the navigation pane, such as Active Digital, Digital, Analog, Firmware Version, or Accumulator.
The settings Display As, Decimal Places, and Value Descriptions apply only to analog or Accumulator data points. State Conversions applies only to active digital and digital data points.
Use the Data Point tab to perform any of the following tasks:
To switch a data point type ˆtop of pageˆ
- Select either digital or analog from the Switch Channel Type list.
- Click the save icon (

To edit a data point alias ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a description in the Alias field.

To edit the decimal place in measurement readings ˆtop of pageˆ
- Click Decimal Places and select a value in the list of options.

To edit the offset that is added to the data point value ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a value in the Offset field.

To edit a data point Engineering Unit Label ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a description in the field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit the State Conversion ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a description in the Conversion field that applies to an adjacent field in the Value column.
- Select an icon (optional) that will be displayed in the Run Time view (see Run Time).
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To add a Value Description ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a number in the first field next to Add Description.
- Type a description of the value in the second field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
- The value and its description are added in the Value Descriptions table.
To add or edit a correction factor for an accumulator or Firmware Version ˆtop of pageˆ
- Enter a value in the Correction Factor field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

To enable an RM4010 unit's channels to be turned on/off with the Send Settings button ˆSettings tabˆ
- To enable the channel to receive commands from the website, click the Enable Channel on Hardware check box to add a check mark to the box.
- To disable the channel from receiving commands from the website, click the Enable Channel on Hardware check box again to remove the check mark from the box.

The unit's current processed value, based on the scaling values entered above, will display under Live Scaling next to the Voltage Card field. Live Scaling is updated whenever the Input Scale fields are changed.

To send settings to the unit ˆSettings tabˆ
- Click Send Settings.
- Review settings when the Send Unit Settings window displays. Highlighted (in orange) settings indicate those that will be sent to the RM4010.
- Click Sync Unit Settings to send updated settings to the unit.
- View the information in the status table to verify settings have been sent to the RM4010.
If you change any setting and then click the Save button, a Sync Settings dialog box displays. Click Yes to send the settings now or No to close the window and not send settings. To verify that the settings were successfully sent to the unit, click the Send Settings button to view the status table on the Send Unit Settings page.
