INT300 and M2500: How to Set Up Data Points

Use the procedures below to set up digital, Last Change Time, annunciator, and battery data points in the Data Point tab of Unit Admin. The procedures apply to the following unit types: INT250, INT300, and M2500. For related information, see the links in Related Topics.

Note: For field descriptions, see INT300: Data Point Settings Overview and M2500: Data Point Settings Overview.

Perform any of the following tasks in the Data Point tab:

• edit a data point Alias
• edit 'Display As' to identify the output of a data point (analog only)
• edit a 'Display As' value description (analog only)
• edit the decimal place in measurement readings (analog and accumulator only)
• edit Engineering Unit Label
• edit a State Conversion label (active digital and digital only)

To display the Data Point tab:

1. Click All Units in Unit System Status.
2. Select a unit in the Unit column to display Unit Detail.
3. Click Settings or the settings icon (pencil) to display Unit Admin.
4. Select an analog, digital, active digital, or accumulator data point. For example, click Channel 04.
5. The Data Point tab displays on top by default.

To edit a data point alias ˆtop of pageˆ

1. Type a description in the Alias field.
2. Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

To edit 'display as' and identify the output of a data point (analog only) ˆtop of pageˆ

1. Click the arrow in the Display As field and select an option.
2. If you selected Description for Values, set up values with corresponding descriptions in the following manner:
   1. Type a value with a corresponding description in the Add Description fields.
   2. Click the add icon (+) and then repeat steps "a" and "b" as needed.
3. Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

To edit a 'Display As' value description (analog only)ˆtop of pageˆ

1. Click the edit icon (pencil) in Value Descriptions and then change the value or corresponding description.
   If you want to remove a value description, click the delete icon (–) and continue with step 3.
2. Click the save icon (diskette) to save changes or the cancel icon (X) in Value Descriptions.
3. Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

To edit the decimal place in measurement readings (analog and accumulator only) ˆtop of pageˆ

1. Click the Decimal Places down arrow and select a value in the list of options.
2. Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

To edit engineering unit label ˆtop of pageˆ

1. Type a description in the field.
2. Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

To edit a state conversion label (active digital and digital only) ˆtop of pageˆ

1. Type a description in the Conversion field that applies to an adjacent field in the Value column.
2. If you want to assign a State Conversion icon, click the arrow in the drop-down list and select an icon.
   The description in the Conversion field and icon display when viewing Run Time data in Unit Detail.
3. Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
