The Extract report is an optional report available with a one-time setup and activation fee by Technical Support. Once activated, the Reports menu includes the Extracts menu item. The Extract report allows you to export certain data to Pipeline Compliance System (PCS), such as channel measurement data. Data exports automatically for a unit group you specify based on a recurring schedule identified during setup.

 

You can perform any of the following tasks when working with an Extract report:

 

Note: For information about how to set up PCS version 6.x.x or version 7.x.x for the Extract report, refer to PCS user documentation or online help when running the software.

 

To access Extracts, click Reports > Extracts and then perform any of the following procedures:

 

To add a new report ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click Add New Report.
  2. Type a name for the report in the Extract Name field.
  3. Click the down arrow in Unit Group To Use and select a unit group.
  4. Depending on which PCS software version you plan to use with the report, select one of the following Version options:
    1. Click PCS 6 for any PCS version 6 software.
    2. Click PCS Generic for any PCS version 7 software.
  5. Click Email or FTP to have the report sent automatically to an Email address or an FTP site.
  6. Complete step "a" or "b":
    1. If you selected Email earlier, type an Email address in the Email text box.
    2. If you selected FTP earlier, provide the following information in the appropriate text box:
      • FTP Destination: type the FTP site address using the format ftp.siteaddress.com
      • User ID: type the user ID required to log on to the FTP site.
      • Password: type the password required to log on to the FTP site.
      • Default Folder Name: type the name of the folder where the report should be delivered.
  7. Click the down arrow in Records to Include and select one of the following options:
    • All Records: includes all normal calls and alarm transmissions (alerts) for the specified date range and unit group.
    • All Non-Alarm Records: includes normal calls for the specified date range and unit group; alarm transmissions are not included.
    • All Alarm Records: includes alarm transmissions for the specified date range and unit group; normal calls are not included.
    • Earliest Record per Unit in period: includes the first transmission (normal call or alarm transmission) for each unit according to the specified date range and unit group.
    • Latest Record per Unit in period: includes the last transmission (normal call or alarm transmission) for each unit according to the specified date range and unit group.
    • Earliest Non-Alarm Record per Unit in period: includes the first normal call for each unit according to the specified date range and unit group. Alarm transmissions are not included in the report.
    • Latest Non-Alarm Record per Unit in period: includes the last normal call for each unit according to the specified date range and unit group. Alarm transmissions are not included in the report.
  8. Click the down arrow in Initial Run Date and select a date to begin running the report.
  9. Click the down arrow in Initial Run Time and select a time to begin running the report.
  10. Click the down arrow in Re-Run the Extract Every and choose an option that identifies how often to run the report.
  11. Click Add to add the new report or Cancel to cancel changes and close Extract Configuration.

 

To edit a report ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the Edit Report icon (pencil) for the report you want to edit.
  2. When Extract Configuration displays, make changes as needed.
  3. Click Save to save changes or Cancel to cancel.

 

To run report (on-demand) ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the Run Report icon (arrow) for the report you want to run.
  2. When the Run Report message displays, click OK to run the report or Cancel to cancel.
    The report is generated immediately. Results are sent to the specified delivery destination (FTP or Email). Running an on-demand report incurs the same fee as regularly run extracts. For more information about your fee schedule, please contact your sales person or Technical Support.

 

To delete a report ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the Delete Report icon (–) for the report you want to delete.
  2. When the Delete Report message displays, click Yes to delete the report or No to cancel.
