Use the procedures below to set up analog, digital, active digital, and accumulator data points in the Data Point and Settings tab of Unit Admin. The procedures apply to the following unit types: APM4AM-GSM, APM4AM-GSM2, APM4AM-SAT, and APM4AM-ORB. For related information, see the links in Related Topics.

Perform any of the following tasks in the Data Point and Settings tab:

In the Settings tab, Live Scaling displays the data point's current processed value (Current Value) along with a re-processed value (Modified Scale Value) showing what the current value would have been if the current scaling was used. The re-processed value is updated as the you change scaling values.
To display the Data Point or Settings tab:
- Click All Units in Unit System Status.
- Select a unit in the Unit column to display Unit Detail.
- Click Settings or the settings icon (pencil) to display Unit Admin.
- Select an analog, digital, active digital, or accumulator data point. For example, click Channel 1.Analog.
- The Data Point tab displays on top by default. Click Settings to display the Settings tab.
To edit a data point alias ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a description in the Alias field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit 'display as' and identify the output of a data point (analog only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- Click the arrow in the Display As field and select an option.
- If you selected Description for Values, set up values with corresponding descriptions in the following manner:
- Type a value with a corresponding description in the Add Description fields.
- Click the add icon (+) and then repeat steps "a" and "b" as needed.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit a 'Display As' value description (analog only)ˆtop of pageˆ
- Click the edit icon (pencil) in Value Descriptions and then change the value or corresponding description.
If you want to remove a value description, click the delete icon (–) and continue with step 3.
- Click the save icon (diskette) to save changes or the cancel icon (X) in Value Descriptions.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit the decimal place in measurement readings (analog and accumulator only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- Click the Decimal Places down arrow and select a value in the list of options.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit the offset that is added to the data point value (analog only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a value in the Offset field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit engineering unit label ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a description in the field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit a state conversion label (active digital and digital only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a description in the Conversion field that applies to an adjacent field in the Value column.
- If you want to assign a State Conversion icon, click the arrow in the drop-down list and select an icon.
The description in the Conversion field and icon display when viewing Run Time data in Unit Detail.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit a correction factor (accumulator only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- If required, type an accumulator correction factor in the Correction Factor field.
The manufacturer of the accumulator determines which correction factor you may need to provide.
To enable or disable a data point ˆtop of pageˆ
- To enable a data point, click Enabled to place a check mark inside the check box.
- To disable a data point, click Enabled to remove the check mark inside the check box.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit an Input Voltage Card (analog only)ˆtop of pageˆ
- Click the Voltage Card down arrow and select a value in the list of options.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit raw input voltage values at High and Low (analog only)ˆtop of pageˆ
- Enter a value for the high raw voltage in the Raw Input High field.
- Enter a value for the low raw voltage in the Raw Input Low field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit Engineering Unit ˆtop of pageˆ
- Enter the type of unit measurement that will be used to describe the data point.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit Engineering Unit Maximum and Minimum ˆtop of pageˆ
- Enter the maximum value for the sensor's rating in the Engineering Unit Maximum field.
- Enter the minimum value for the sensor's rating in the Engineering Unit Minimum field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit Calculated Use Date to calculate differences in readings (accumulator only)ˆtop of pageˆ
- Click the Calculated Use Date down arrow and select a date from the current month shown.
- To change the month, click the left or right arrows until the month desired is displayed.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
