Units: Data Alert Condition Operators and Trigger Values

RSS
Modified on 11/16/2011 10:05 by linda Categorized as Units

An alert is a condition of interest indicating the status of a unit. Data Alerts send notifications of an alarm event for a data point. Refer to Units: How to Set Up a Data Alert for more information on setting up a unit data alert and to How to Acknowledge an Alert for details on acknowledging alerts.

The following table provides a description of available Operators and the corresponding Trigger Value (if available) for Data Alert conditions.

For some Trigger Values, an engineering unit displays next to the Trigger Value field. After you save the new Condition, the engineering unit value is then displayed in the Eng. Units column in the Conditions tab.

Operator Description Trigger Value
!=Not Equal To The condition of the data point is not equal to the Trigger Value assigned. ON/OFF or numerical value.
< Less Than

The condition of the data point is less than the Trigger Value assigned.

Numerical value.
<= Less Than or Equal To The condition of the data point is less than or equal to the Trigger Value assigned. Numerical value.
== Equal To

The condition of the data point is equal to the Trigger Value assigned.

ON/OFF or numerical value.
> Greater Than

The condition of the data point is greater than the Trigger Value assigned.

Numerical value.
>= Greater Than or Equal To

The condition of the data point is greater than or equal to the Trigger Value assigned.

Numerical value.
Changes Less Than The condition of the data point changes less than the Trigger Value assigned. Numerical value.
Changes Less Than % The condition of the data point changes less than (in percentage) the Trigger Value assigned. Numerical value.
Changes More Than The condition of the data point changes more than the Trigger Value assigned. Numerical value.
Changes More Than % The condition of the data point changes more than (in percentage) the Trigger Value assigned. Numerical value.
State Changes Away From The state of the data point changes from the Trigger Value assigned. ON/OFF.
State Changes To The state of the data point changes to the Trigger Value assigned. ON/OFF.
Invalid Value The data point returns a value that is not valid. None.
Valid Value The data point returns a value that is valid. None.
Is Packet Alarm The packet indicates that the data point value is in an alarm state (based on settings at the unit). None.
State Change The state of the data point changes. None.
Changes The value of the data point changes. None.
Decreases The value of the data point decreases. None.
Increases The value of the data point increases. None.
No Change The value of the data point does not change. None.
