This Tech Tip includes troubleshooting hints for unit transmission failures and incorrect unit readings.

If a unit is not transmitting, check the following on the unit:

  1. Is a Port Terminator installed. If no Port Terminator is installed, contact Technical Support.
  2. Inside the enclosure, the antenna cable is away from the radio and battery. Secure cable to the side, away from the radio and battery.
  3. The battery voltage level is acceptable for the unit. Voltage should exceed 11 volts.
  4. The RSSI signal strength is acceptable for transmitting packets.
  5. The antenna or satellite terminal have been installed properly.
  6. The antenna base has been installed properly.

If the unit is taking incorrect readings, check the following:

  1. Use a volt meter to check whether voltage input at terminal block on unit is within an exceptable range.
  2. Check that the channel scaling setting is set correctly on both the UCT and the Asset Tracker website.

If you are unable to resolve any of these or other issues, please contact technical support.
