Use the Data Point and Settings tab in Unit Admin to set up SDT16 family and RM3000 series data points. Settings include those for register, input state, battery status, battery voltage, or POR (power on reset) data points.

To display either the Data Point or Settings tab:
- Click All Units in Unit System Status.
- Select a unit in the Unit column of All Units View to display Unit Detail.
- Click Settings or the pencil icon to display Unit Admin.
- Select an analog, digital, or counter data point. For example, click Analog Channel 1 (AnCh1).
The Data Point tab displays on top by default. Click the Settings tab to display additional settings.

To enable or disable a data point ˆtop of pageˆ
- To disable a data point:
- Click a data point in the navigation pane.
- Click Toggle Active.
- When the Toggle Active message displays, click the check box beside the data point you want to disable.
- Click Apply in the Toggle Active message.
- To enable a data point:
- Click Show Inactive to display all disabled data points. Disabled data points appear as red, italic text.
- Click Toggle Active.
- When the Toggle Active message displays, click the check box beside the disabled data point you want to enable.
- Click Apply in the Toggle Active message.
To edit a data point alias ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a description in the Alias field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit 'display as' (register only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- Click the arrow in the Display As field and select an option.
- If you selected the option Description for Values, set up values with corresponding descriptions in the following manner:
- Type a value with a corresponding description in the Add Description fields.
- Click the add icon (+) and then repeat steps "a" and "b" as needed.
- If you want to edit an entry in Value for Descriptions:
- Click the edit icon (pencil) and then change the value or corresponding description.
- Click the save icon (diskette) to save changes or the cancel icon (X).
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
- If you selected the Descriptions for Values 'Display As' option, continue with the next procedure to set up Value Descriptions.
To edit the decimal place in readings (battery voltage, POR, and register only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- Click Decimal Places and select a value in the list of options.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit the offset that is added to the data point value (analog only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a value in the Offset field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit the engineering unit label ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a description in the Engineering Unit Label field.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit value descriptions (register only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- If you selected Descriptions for Values as the 'Display As' option earlier:
- Type a value and then a description in the Add Description fields.
- Click the add icon (+).
- If you want to change a value or description:
- Click the pencil icon associated with the Value and Description fields you want to edit.
- Make changes as needed and then click the save icon (diskette) to save changes or the cancel icon (X) to cancel changes.
- If you want to delete a value and description, click the delete icon (–) associated with the Value and Description field you want to delete.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit state conversions (battery status and input state only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- Type a description in the Conversion field that applies to an adjacent field in the Value column.
- Select an icon (optional) that will be displayed in the Run Time view (see Run Time).
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To edit the correction factor (POR only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- As an option, type a decimal number in the Correction Factor field to be used as a multiplier with the POR reading.
Leave this field empty if you do not want to apply a Correction Factor.
- Click Save to save changes or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
To define a register as double (for 12-digit registers only) ˆtop of pageˆ
- Click the Register is Double check box. A check mark indicates the option is enabled.
- To disable the option, click the check box again to clear the check mark.
To edit the scale value for register readings ˆtop of pageˆ
- Enter the same scale value as used in the field when configuring the unit for service using the Universal Configuration Toolkit (UCT) software.
If UCT settings were saved in the Event Log, the scale value is recorded in the log file along with other configuration settings.
