RM4010: How to Set Up Unit Settings

Use the procedures below to create or edit settings on RM4010 units, including interruption. Refer to the list of Related Topics for more information.

For an overview and field descriptions, see RM4010: Unit Settings Overview.

To display the navigation pane or Settings tabs in Unit Admin:

  1. Click All Units in Unit System Status.
  2. Select a unit in the Unit column of All Units View to display Unit Detail.
  3. Click Settings or the pencil icon to display Unit Admin.
  4. The Settings tab displays. Click tab to access unit settings.

 

Perform any of the following tasks for an RM4010 unit in the General tab in the Settings tab on Unit Admin:

To set the amount of time to wait before sending a notification for AC failure ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the up and down arrows in the AC Fails (min) to set the time. You can also type a number in the field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the amount of time to wait before sending a notification for an AC restore ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the up and down arrows in the AC Restored (min) to set the time. You can also type a number in the field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the amount of time to wait before sending a notification for AC failure during interruption ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the up and down arrows in the AC Fails During Interruption (min) to set the time. You can also type a number in the field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the amount of time to wait before sending a notification for AC restored during interruption ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the up and down arrows in the AC Restored During Interruption (min) to set the time. You can also type a number in the field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the amount of time between notification transmissions ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Select the time interval or None from the list of options in the Transmission Repeat Interval field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the time of day when transmissions are sent ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Double-click on the hour, minutes, or AM/PM in the Transmit Time field and then use the up and down arrows to set the time. You can also type a number for the hour and minutes.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
Set the time in Transmit Time field in relation to the unit's Time Zone. The Time Zone is set on the Info tab (under Unit Admin).

 

To send settings to the unit ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click Send Settings.
  2. Review settings when the Send Unit Settings window displays. Highlighted (in orange) settings indicate those that will be sent to the RM4010.
  3. Click Sync Unit Settings to send updated settings to the unit.
  4. View the information in the status table to verify settings have been sent to the RM4010.
If you change any setting and then click the Save button, a Sync Settings dialog box displays. Click Yes to send the settings now or No to close the window and not send settings. To verify that the settings were successfully sent to the unit, click the Send Settings button to view the status table on the Send Unit Settings page.

 

To enable/disable posting analog values when interrupting ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. To enable posting, click the Post Analog Values when Interrupting check box to add a check mark to the check box.
  2. To disable posting, click the Post Analog Values when Interrupting check box to remove the check mark from the check box.
  3. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To enable/disable Always Off ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. To enable, click the Always off check box to add a check mark to the check box.
  2. To disable, click the Always off check box to remove the check mark from the check box.
  3. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To select the interrupter mode ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Select the mode from the list of options in the Interrupter Mode field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the date for interruption to begin (for Start/Stop mode) ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the arrow in the Start Date field and select a date from the calendar.
  2. Or, click Today to select today's date as the start date.
  3. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the date for interruption to end (for Start/Stop mode) ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the arrow in the Stop Date field and select a date from the calendar.
  2. Or, click Today to select today's date as the start date.
  3. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the time of day for interruption to begin (for Daily mode) ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Double-click on the hour, minutes, or AM/PM in the Start Time field and then use the up and down arrows to set the time. You can also type a number for the hour and minutes.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
  3. Set the time in Start Time field in relation to the unit's Time Zone. The Time Zone is set on the Info tab (under Unit Admin).

 

To set the time of day for interruption to end (for Daily mode) ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Double-click on the hour, minutes, or AM/PM in the Stop Time field and then use the up and down arrows to set the time. You can also type a number for the hour and minutes.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.
  3. Set the time in Stop Time field in relation to the unit's Time Zone. The Time Zone is set on the Info tab (under Unit Admin).

 

To set the amount of time (in seconds) that the interrupter is on ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the up and down arrows in the On Time in Seconds to set the time. You can also type a number in the field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the amount of time (in seconds) that the interrupter is off ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the up and down arrows in the Off Time in Seconds to set the time. You can also type a number in the field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To select the interrupter's output ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. For normally closed, click the radio button next to the Normally Closed field.
  2. For normally open, click the radio button next to the Normally Open field.
  3. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To select the interrupter's synchronization mode ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. For off/on, click the radio button next to the Off/On field.
  2. For on/off, click the radio button next to the On/Off field.
  3. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To enable/disable Interference mode ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. To enable, click the Interference Mode Enabled check box to add a check mark to the check box.
  2. To disable, click the Interference Mode Enabled check box to remove the check mark from the check box.

 

To enter the total number of units (for Interference mode) ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the up and down arrows in the # of Units field. You can also type a number in the field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To enter the unit's number (for Interference mode) ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the up and down arrows in the Unit Number field. You can also type a number in the field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To set the amount of time (in seconds) for delay (for Interference mode) ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click the up and down arrows in the Delay Between Units field. You can also type a number in the field.
  2. Click Save to save settings or Reset to cancel changes and return to the last, saved setting.

 

To send settings to the unit ˆtop of pageˆ

  1. Click Send Settings.
  2. Review settings when the Send Unit Settings window displays. Highlighted (in orange) settings indicate those that will be sent to the RM4010.
  3. Click Sync Unit Settings to send updated settings to the unit.
  4. View the information in the status table to verify settings have been sent to the RM4010.
