Use the procedures below to set up active digital, digital, analog, or accumulator data points in the Data Point and Setting tabs of Unit Admin for any unit type in the APM4AMCP family. Unit types include the APM4AMCP-SAT and APM4AMCP-ORB. For general unit data point settings, see the links in Related Topics below.
Data point fields in the Data Point tab include:
- Alias: A user-friendly name for a unit data point. Enter a description that is meaningful to your company, such as a unique part number or other type of identifier.
- Data Point Name: Name of the data point. This value is not editable.
- Display As: Identifies the output of the data point. Options are As Is (Value as Decoded), Value Converted °C to °F, Value Converted °F to °C, or Descriptions for Values.
- Decimal Places: Identifies how many numbers appear after the decimal in a register reading.
- Engineering Unit Label: Identifies the unit of measurement.
- Value Descriptions: For Analog data points only, displays code values and their description.
- Add Description: For Analog data points only, identifies a code value and description. Enter a description of the code in the second field.
- State Conversions: For digital data points only, a description of the value shown and an icon to represent the value. Enter a description in the Conversion field, and choose an icon from the list of options.
Data point fields in the Settings tab include (for analog only):
- Input Voltage Selection: Identifies input voltage. Options depend on unit type.
- Response Filter Time (to settle with 1%): Defines the amount of time that the filter responds to sudden changes in the inuput signal to help eliminate false alarm transmissions. Used with Channel 2 only.
- Raw Voltgage Values (on unit input) High: The high (maximum) raw voltage output value of the input device. This value should match the value that was used when the unit was configured in the field using the Universal Configuration Toolkit.
- Raw Voltgage Values (on unit input) low: The low (minimum) raw voltage output value of the input device. This value should match the value that was used when the unit was configured in the field using the Universal Configuration Toolkit.
- Engineering Unit: Defines the unit of measurement, such as volts or amps.
- Engineering Unit Maximum: Defines the sensor's maximum rating. This value should match the value that was used when the unit was configured in the field using the Universal Configuration Toolkit.
- Engineering Unit Minimum: Defines the sensor's minimum rating. This value should match the value that was used when the unit was configured in the field using the Universal Configuration Toolkit.
To display the Data Point tab:
- Click Units > Unit Admin.
- Select a unit and then a data point in the navigation pane, such as Active Digital, Digital, Analog, or Accumulator.
Note: The settings Display As, Decimal Places, and Value Descriptions apply only to analog data points, while State Conversions applies only to active digital and digital data points.
